Product Code: MB-20 Features: Protects against efflorescence, Shows decrease in water absorption, Water vapour Permeable Latest water based silicone technology. ANT SALT PRIMER is used for the anti-efflorescent and water -repellent treatment of masonary. It protects against efflorescence and shows a remarkable decrease in water absorption. It has very good long term durability on external walls and is permeable to water vapour. The product can be over-coated with Acrylic PVA’s or texture - plasters. PROPERTIES DATA UNITS Resin Type Silicone - Viscosity (Krebs Stormer) Water think - Drying Times - Touch Dry 10 minutes Drying Times - Hard Dry N/A hours Over coating Time 48 hours Recommended number of coats 2 to 3 (depending on surface absorption) - Dry Film Thickness N/A - Coverage 8 to 10 (depending on surface absorption) m² / Ltr Surface Apperance N/A (Transparent) - Cleaning Solvent Water - Shelf Life 6 months Available Colours N/A (Transparent) - Unit Sizes and Weights 20Ltr = 20,9kg, 5Ltr = 5,4kg, 1Ltr = 1,1kg Ltr = kg As a water repellent and anti-efflorescent barrier under film forming coatings on porous substrates: Clean surface by means of scrubbing or steam / high-pressure water cleaning and allow substrate to flash off. Ensure that the substructure is free of oil and grease to ensure proper penetration of the ANTI SALT PRIMER. Repair crumbly or poor finishes as the ANTI SALT PRIMER has no binding. As a water repellent barrier under film forming coating systems: In order to prevent water penetration through hairline cracks and defects in impermeable exterior paint systems, ANTI SALT PRIMER can be used as a primer on the plaster, under such coatings. The substrate must be clean and dry and application should take place before painting of the topcoat. As a water repellent and anti-effloescent barrier under film forming coating systems ANTI SALT PRIMER must be applied to the masonry as liberally as possible and very porous substrates must be coated twice, working wet in wet (apply the next coat, when substrate has absorbed the previous one and no longer shines). Remove excess product that is not absorbed. Tools such as brushes, rollers or spraying equipment are suitable for this purpose. Most synthetic paints (e.g.: Vinyl, Acrylic, Silicone) show good wetting and adhesion to substrates treated in this way, but preliminary trials are recommended, especially where cheaper types of paint are used. Do not thin the topcoat to be used. This type of pre-treatment of concrete substrates is recommended especially under coastal weather conditions, where water (and salt) damage is a common problem. NB: Do not use ANT SALT PRIMER as a bonding liquid on substrates that are crumbly were the plaster has deteriorated, as the binding powers of this product are not sufficient to restore the plaster soundness to support subsequent coatings. Do not use on damp or wet surfaces. This product is not suitable for rendering gypsum water repellent. Do not use on previously coated surfaces. Flammability Not Flammable Toxicity N/A Protective Clothing Gloves Keep out of reach of children. Do not allow fumes to become concentrated at work area. Do not ingest. ...

Product Code: MB-6 Features: Increases Cement Plaster Flexibility PERA FIX is a cement additive free of halogens and other aggressive constituents. It is eminently suitable for the modification of building plaster. As a concrete and plaster additive (improves elasticity, adhesion and ratio of transverse and compressive strength) and in the production of plastics a modified mortar. As additive in the production of concrete flooring (improves levelling, adhesion and enhances the early and ultimate strength of the floor). PROPERTIES DATA UNITS Resin Type Alkaline Stable - Cleaning Solvent Water - Shelf Life 6 Months Unit Sizes and Weights 20Ltr =24,3kg, 5Ltr = 6.3kg, 1Ltr = 1.3kg Ltr = kg Consolidation of old crumbling cement floors: Clean thoroughly. Saturate floor with PeraFix: Water in a ratio of 1:4. Avoid an excess of PeraFix:Water, as this can lead to the formation of a film, that becomes sticky under the influence of heat and can be peeled off. Coating of freshly laid cement floors - to strengthen the surface and as protection against dirt: Dilute PeraFix with water in a ratio of 1:4. Apply to floor, as soon as it can be walked upon, by means of spraying, or with a rubber spreader. This measure is particularly important if surfacing is ultimately to be carried out. Reducing shrinkage and the danger of cracking in floating floors: For this, 1 to 2% PeraFix, calculated on the cement content, is added to the mortar. If poor quality sand is used this amount should be increased to 10%. The PeraFix is best added to the make-up water or, if a mechanical mixer is used, directly to the mixer. It is advisable to apply a coating, as described in "2", to the floating floor. Levelling compound for mastic asphalt: For this purpose PeraFix is mixed with fine, washed sand or with river sand until a mixture, which can easily be trowelled, is produced. The ratio of PeraFix: Sand is about 1:3 by weight. Levelling compound for concrete: Portland Cement (type PZ 275) is mixed with fine river sand (max. particle size: 0,5 - 1 mm), in a ratio of 1:1,5 to 1:2 per weight. The coarser the grains, the more sand can be used. The mixture is moistened with PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:1. This mixture is applied to the cleaned substrate that has been saturated with a mixture of Perafix:Water in a ratio 1:4. The applied levelling compound must be kept moist for 1 to 2 days. The addition of fused alumina cement, to the Portland cement, accelerates hardening. We recommend the application of a mixture as described in "2". Repair of damaged or uneven concrete flooring: Unevenness in cement flooring and in concrete is, after thorough cleaning of the substrate, saturated with a mixture of PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:4. Before this coating has dried, a mortar, consisting of 3 parts by volume of sand (particle size 0 to 3 mm) and 1 part by volume ordinary Portland cement, compounded with a mixture of PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:4, is used to make good the damage. More severe defects can be prefilled with this mortar and a levelling compound, as described under 5, applied. This mortar can also be used for the preparation of actual flooring. Increasing adhesion and elasticity, as well as reducing the tendency to crack, of terrazzo or single layer hard concrete flooring: The substrate is pre-treated with a mixture of Perafix:Water in a ratio of 1:4. The mortar is prepared with the same mixture, instead of water. In the case of double-layer, hard concrete flooring, these recommendations apply only to the lower layer. Base for bonding old and new concrete: The old, thoroughly cleaned floor, is primed with a mixture of PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:4. A mixture, consisting of 1 to 2 parts by volume of sand, particle size 0 to 3 mm and, 1 part by volume of cement, mixed with PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:4, is brushed into the wet priming coat. Ordinary cement mortar (or concrete) is cast onto this base, while it is still wet. Towelling compounds based on cement or casein for substrates: These can be made to adhere more easily to the substrate if a mixture of PeraFix:Water, in a ratio of 1:4 to 1:8, is used instead of water for preparing the compound. Smoothing, waterproofing compound for spraying, brushing or towelling: A mixture of: 1 part by volume PeraFix 1 part by volume Ordinary white or grey Portland cement 2 parts by volume Water is thoroughly stirred and applied to the surface by means of a spray gun (2,5mm jet, 2.5 atg.), a brush or a smoothing trowel. By further dilution with water, a thinner coat can be applied. This mixture can also be used as a decor plaster, but the mixture may have to be adjusted by up to 1 part by volume clean fine sand (0 to 1mm). The cured coating may then be coated with any conventional builder’s paint. Improved adhesion of renderings: The bond strength of wall and ceiling renderings can be improved, and their elasticity increased, especially if the surfaces are smooth, by the addition of 5% PeraFix, calculated on the make-up water Increasing the tensile strength of synthetic/natural anhydrite flooring or plaster moulds: The addition of 5% PeraFix, calculated on the binder increases the bending tensile strength of synthetic anhydrite flooring by approximately 50% (measured on 4 X 4 X 16 cm prisms after thorough drying). The same applies to natural anhydrite. Plaster moulds (e.g. models) can be made practically unbreakable and highly abrasion resistant by a correspondingly high addition of PeraFix, even if the structural components are thin. The desired amount must be determined by preliminary trials, depending on the stress and type of plaster used. Grouting for all types of wall and floor tiles: A dry mix consisting of: White cement 300 p.b.w. Pera marble dust 600 p.b.w. Rutile Titanium Dioxide 100 p.b.w. is made into a paste with a mixture of PeraFix:Water in a ratio of 1:9. The Titanium Dioxide may be replaced by any inorganic light fast pigment, or mixtures thereof, for coloured grouting. Care must be taken, that these pigments are compatible with cement. NB: Remember - trials should be carried out before application, to familiarise yourself in the use of PeraFix, as well as determining the optimum quantities to be used. PeraFix is not a "super-plasticiser" (for use in high-density concrete), although it has plasticising properties and a reduction in make-up water is usually possible. PeraFix is active in the mortar (better workability, flow, plasticising action, colour development, etc), as well as in the cured concrete (higher transverse and compressive strength, improved elasticity and adhesion, as well as better colour development and colour retention in pigmented systems). PeraFix "cures" by the loss of water, therefore we recommend that PeraFix modified concrete be left to dry after hardening. PeraFix is not recommended for use underwater. For application surfaces, other than above, please contact our sales department. Gloves X Mask - Goggles X Swallowed Rinse mouth with water. Give water to drink. Seek medical attention! Seal surfaces with SEALER (MB-30). Then proceed as follows: After two hours drying time, apply the PLAST FINE (MRL) with a stainless steel trowel and smooth down to the thickness of the largest pebbles (+/- 1mm).Level the plaster to an even and smooth surface with a clean stainless steel trowel (Do not use plastic or wooden trowels). Make sure that the trowel remains clean at all times. Previously painted surfaces: Remove all dust, dirt, grease and loose or flaking paint. Glossy paints must be sanded to a matt finish (it is not recommended to apply PLAST FINE (MRL) over Enamel paints). Make good any holes and cracks with FLEX FILL (code MXRP) and continue as in (a). Lime washed surfaces: Remove limewash with a steel brush. Seal surface with 2 (two) coats of solvent-based bonding liquid, leaving a drying time of at least 4 hours in-between coats. After 24 hours drying time continue as in (a). Surfaces with microbiological problems (fungal or algae growth): Liberally apply an approved detergent and leave for 48 hours. Remove all loose matter and fungal or algae growth with a wire brush. Apply 1 coat anti-fungal SEALER (on request only), followed by anti-fungal PLAST FINE. Where a primer coat is used, this too should be anti-fungicidal. Microbiological problems are usually caused by faulty construction or design - find and remove the cause of the problem whenever possible. Never apply PLAST FINE in direct sunlight. Use a canvas or plastic sheet to shade areas where work is in progress. Whenever possible, apply on side of structure facing away from sun. On very large areas apply PLAST FINE in panels (or fields). Allowance should be made for these panels during the design stage of a project. These panels would ideally encompass no more than the area that can be plastered by a single applicator in a shift. Wherever necessary, care must be taken that these panels are easily accessible from the scaffolding. Where it is possible apply only one batch to a continuous panel or wall. Where this is impossible, ensure that the colour of all batches used, matches. A single panel or wall should never be left uncompleted. If more than one person is doing the application, care must be taken that the resultant pattern of any one person matches that of all the others. When choosing persons to apply the plaster, take note that plasterers are better suited than painters. NB: Remember - a system is only as good as the substrate. Replaster walls where the old plaster is crumbling or detached. Never use inferior sealers or primers. One coat CLEAR COAT (MB-9) is recommended for interior application over these systems in high traffic areas, to improve gloss and cleanability and to decrease dirt retention. For application surfaces, other than above, please contact our sales department or the technical department. Gloves X Mask - Goggles X Swallowed Rinse mouth with water. Give water to drink.
